Tyler's class held a state fair this month at school. Early in the year, they each picked a state and then over the course of the next few months they researched the state they chose. They wrote poems, wrote a research paper, created a tourist postcard, created a relief map out of dough, created and colored the state flag, made a population chart, and a t-shirt with special icons on it. At the state fair, each student had a billboard where they showcased their projects. The class also sang a few songs that related to the states...One song listed all the names, another one listed all the capitals and the last one was a play on the state names...What did "Misses sip"? Her "Minnesoda"...What did "Della Wear?" Her "New Jersey" etc. The kids really seemed to enjoy that song. Tyler picked the state of Nevada and had fun finding out different facts about his state:

The boys have really enjoyed school this year, hopefully they will have a good summer break and be ready to start again in the fall.
